Network project

Community, communication, information, equal partnership and tolerance are the important characteristics which distinguish networks.
In our project, community concerns are more important than self-interest. The clearest statement of this principle is that five of the participating composers have collaborated on a composition, which will be played in every concert as a kind of central artistic message.

"Drau / Drava – Old River, New Sounds" establishes communication structures which work to break down language boundaries and differences of world-view.
The network is the carrier of the multi-directional information exchange, which has only become possible with the speed of current information technology.
Everyone who takes part in this project is an equal partner who, regardless of organizational structures, has a role in all decision-making processes.
Tolerance of artistic diversity - like the diversity of springs which feed the Drau network, and the varied people who live in its cultural space - replaces aesthetic dogmas.

"Drau / Drava - Old River, New Sounds" addresses the challenge of overcoming the most varied borders and barriers and contributing to community, to achieve mutual respect and integration in a fragmented Europe.
